Privacy policy

This policy applies to anyone who visits this website. It is short on purpose, and it says what we actually do. If anything in it is unclear, ask us.

What this site collects

The site has no visitor accounts, so there is nothing to sign up for and no password to keep. It does not place advertising trackers.

The site has two forms. The contact form asks for your first and last name, your email address, your organization, and your message; every field is required. The vendor registration form asks for a company name, its website, a contact's first and last name, an email address or a phone number or both, the services the business offers, a message, and, if you choose to give them, its business designations. When you send either form, what you typed is sent to us by email through an outside delivery service so we can reply. That is the only thing the forms do with it.

Our email address appears on the site as a link. Choosing it opens your own mail program. Nothing about that action is recorded here; the message you write goes straight from your mail program to ours.

The company that hosts this site keeps ordinary server logs, as nearly every host does. A log entry records things like the page requested, the time, the browser used, and the network address the request came from. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure.

Traffic analytics

We may use a traffic analytics service to see which pages are read and roughly how many people read them. Any such data is anonymized and aggregated before we look at it. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, follow you across other websites, or serve advertising.

How we use information

We use what we receive to answer your message, to consider a registered business when a contract calls for its services, to understand which parts of the site are useful, and to keep the site working. Messages you send us are kept as long as we need them to respond and keep a record of the conversation.

We do not sell information about visitors. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do not build profiles of visitors.

Outside services

A few outside companies help run the site. Our hosting provider serves the pages and keeps the server logs described above. An email delivery service carries contact form and vendor registration submissions to our inbox. If we adopt an analytics provider, it will process the anonymized traffic counts described above. Each of these companies handles data under its own policy, and we choose services that limit what they keep.

Your choices

You can read every page of this site without giving us anything. You choose whether to send a message, and what to include in it. If you would like us to delete a message you sent, email us and we will.

Children

This site is for government agencies and the businesses that work with them. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

When we change how the site handles information, we update this page and its effective date. The current version is always the one published here.
